3. The Basic Functions
The basic usage of MenuShink is extremely simple and after setting the advanced settings you are all set to go. Tick Keep Audio to reserve the soundtracks of the menus. Restore Backup undos your shrinking. From Tools you can directly launch some popular DVD software. Click Process! when you are ready to go.
4. Selecting frames
As we chose to manually preview and select a frame for each menu, MenuShink will show the dialog below. By moving the slider you can move between frames and choose what ever looks the best. Click Keep if you wish to leave this menu untouched and keep it animated. Auto function will process all the remaining menus, without giving you the chance to preview and manually select.
5. Complete
When the process is complete, MenuShrink will show you the bytes saved. In our case we saved over 200 megabytes, which will be used to increase the quality of the compressed copy. Now your \VIDEO_TS\ folder contains the movie with the shrinked menus, but the original menus are saved to \VIDEO_TS\MenuShrinkBackup\.
You are now ready process the movie with your favorite DVD to DVD-R backup software. Our current recommendation, and a totally free solution, is DVD Rebuilder combined with HC Encoder.
