Google to offer free online storage? |
Wednesday, 28 November 2007 |
According to the source, Internet company Google is planning an online data storage service that would allow users to store their documents and files conveniently to Google's service. The idea of course to provide convenient access to the files from anywhere with an Internet connection. The service would most likely be web based and possibly offered for free. This kind of service by Google has been speculated for quite some time, ever since they have been able to offer 2+ gigabytes of capacity for the GMail service. Definitely there would be a lot of demand for this kind of service, as people are often accessing the Internet from many different locations. It could also be speculated if Google would integrate this service to their mobile device operating system Android - mobile devices often have limited storage capacity, so an online storage for photos etc. would be an interesting idea for that market segment as well. |
